These watch faces do not collect personal data. They send a small amount of anonymous technical data, used only to detect faults and to keep the faces working correctly on the watch models and system versions actually in use. It describes the product, not the person using it. It can be switched off.

No name, account, email address, device identifier or serial number, and no location more precise than country. No health or fitness data: heart rate, steps and similar are displayed on the watch and never leave it.
The data contains no identifier. Each transmission carries a number that is regenerated every day and is not derived from you or your watch, so transmissions cannot be attributed to an individual, nor linked to one another from one day to the next. The result is anonymous, and is used only in aggregate.
The purpose is product quality: finding faults, and knowing which watch models, system versions and languages must keep working. Where any of this constitutes processing of personal data, the legal basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — the interest being to maintain and support software already installed on the user's device. That interest is balanced against a deliberately minimal design: no identifiers, no health data, no profiling, no advertising, no tracking across days, and a visible off switch.
As with any internet request, the receiving server sees the network (IP) address the request came from. It is used once, in memory, to determine the country, and is then discarded. It is never written to storage and never stored alongside the technical data.
The data is received and stored by Modal Labs, Inc. (United States), acting as hosting provider on the controller's instructions. Transfers to the United States rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. No other party receives the data. It is not sold or shared, and no advertising or third-party analytics services are used.
Technical records are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Aggregate figures derived from them contain no individual records and may be kept longer.
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on it.
Please note a practical limit: because the data contains no identifier, it cannot be traced to any individual. It is therefore not possible to locate, export or delete "your" records on request — there is nothing linking any record to you (Article 11 GDPR). If you do not wish to be included at all, the off switch below is the effective means, and it takes effect immediately.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority in your country of residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement.
Garmin Connect → the watch face → Settings → Share usage stats. The face continues to work exactly as before and stops sending immediately. You may also object to this processing at any time using the contact address above.
These watch faces are general-audience products, are not directed at children, and collect nothing capable of identifying a person of any age.

If what is collected changes, this page and the date above are updated, and any significant change is noted in the affected face's release notes.
